Ellington Jordan
Ellington Jordan, born in 1940, was an American songwriter, musician, and record
producer originally from Los Angeles who moved to Detroit in the 1960s to begin
his music career. He co-wrote Etta James’s blues hit "I’d Rather Go Blind" in
1967. Performing under the name Fugi, Jordan released the single "Mary Don’t
Take Me on No Bad Trip" on Cadet Records in 1968. He recorded a rap-oriented
album, The Cold-Blooded City They Call the 'No', in 1994, followed by the
official release of his 1968 studio album Mary Don’t Take Me on No Bad Trip and
the neo-soul album Almost Home in 2005....
