Eleanor Shanley is an Irish singer from Keshcarrigan, County Leitrim, Ireland
who was born into a musical family. She moved to Dublin, where she worked at FAS
and studied drama with Betty Ann Norton while performing in local sessions. In
1990, Shanley made her debut as a singer with the traditional group De Danann,
remaining with them for five years. Her collaborations include performances with
