El Riqué, born Mauricio Becerra in Monterrey, Nuevo León, is a Mexican
singer-songwriter and poet whose blend of trova, bossa nova, pop, reggae, and
rap has positioned him as one of the most promising voices in Latin indie music.
After leaving a corporate job in 2022 to travel across Europe, where a series of
serendipitous musical encounters reignited his passion for songwriting, he
returned to Mexico and began releasing music independently. What began as a
