Eileen Farrell
Eileen Farrell was born on 13 February 1920 in Willimantic, Connecticut, and
became an American soprano noted for both classical and popular repertoire. She
began her career as a member of the CBS Chorus in 1940, and a year later
launched her own radio program, Eileen Farrell Sings, which ran until 1946 and
featured collaborations with artists such as Frank Sinatra and Risë Stevens. In
1947, she transitioned to concert work, touring the United States and South
