Egó was a rock band founded in Reykjavík, Iceland, in the fall of 1981 by Bubbi Morthens, his younger brother and guitarist Bergþór Morthens, and bassist Þorleifur Guðjónsson. The band's first drummer was Jóhann Richards, later replaced by Magnús Stefánsson. Egó's debut album, Breyttir Tímar, released on April 1, 1982, became one of the best-selling albums in Icelandic music history, reaching second place on the Icelandic album chart and remaining in the top 10 for 19 weeks.
