Edema
Edema, an Italian death‑metal group formed in Piacenza in 2004 by guitarist
Marcello “Mavce” Lega and drummer Riccardo “Mendosa” Lovotti, emerged from a
meeting at the Tendenze Festival. The band’s early activity included the 2005
demo ISET, followed by the 2007 demo Criosota, which showcased technical riffs
and occasional clean vocals. In 2009, the group signed with Punishment 18
Records and released their debut album Default, a work noted for its modern,
overproduced death metal sound with thrash and hardcore punk influences. The
group disbanded in 2010.
