Edward Reardon, known professionally as Eddie Fontaine, was born on March 6,
1927, in Springfield, Massachusetts. He began his career as an actor and singer,
signing with RCA Records in 1954 after completing his service in the US Navy.
His breakthrough moment came in 1955 when he performed at the Brooklyn Paramount
Theater alongside disc jockey Alan Freed. Fontaine's first single, "Rock Love",
was released that same year under the label X. He achieved significant success
