Earth and Fire, a Dutch rock and pop band, were formed in November 1968 in
Voorschoten by twin brothers Chris Koerts and Gerard Koerts. The band's early
years were marked by frequent name changes and lineup adjustments, beginning as
The Singing Twins and later evolving into The Swinging Strings. Their
breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of their debut album Earth and Fire,
which featured the hits "Seasons" and "Ruby Is the One". The band's initial
success continued with singles such as "Memories" (released March 1972) and
