Dukes
Matt Barus is a New Zealand musician from Christchurch who reached professional
recognition as lead vocalist for the rock group The Dukes. The ensemble was
established in early 2003 following a name change from Deluxeboy and originally
consisted of Barus, his brother Jo Barus, Brad Banks, and Fausia Fialele. Their
recording career began with the debut studio recording Lil' Sunshine (2005). In
2007, the group reconfigured its lineup to include L.A. Mitchell, and won the
New Zealand leg of the MTV Kickstart competition. The Dukes released their
