Dolcey Julio Gutiérrez De la Cruz was born on October 23, 1941, in El Guamo,
Bolívar, Colombia. He is known for his contributions to vallenato, cumbia,
sabanera, and tropical music, primarily as an accordionist and singer. His
musical training began under Adolfo Pacheco, but it was Aníbal Velásquez who
helped shape his distinctive style. Gutiérrez's breakthrough came with the
release of "Cantinero sirva el trago" in 1963, from his debut album Parranda en
