DJ Vlad
Vladimir Lyubovny, known professionally as DJ Vlad, was born on June 28, 1973,
in Kyiv, Ukraine. He moved to the United States at age five and grew up in San
Mateo, California, where he developed an interest in hip hop. Initially making
hip hop beats, Lyubovny transitioned into DJing after experimenting with a
friend's equipment. His career took off when he launched VladTV.com, initially
uploading MP3 files of DJ mixtapes. He released several albums including East
Coast Killa/West Coast Killa (2003) and Rock Phenomenon: Hip Hop vs. Rock
