Die Egerländer Musikanten, a brass band that primarily played Bohemian brass music, was founded in 1955 by trombonist and conductor Ernst Mosch, who had fled the Sudetenland after World War II and settled in Bavaria. The ensemble, composed mainly of Bohemian musicians, first recorded five tracks for the Südfunk Stuttgart studio in 1956, and in December of the same year signed a contract with Telefunken, expanding to an 18-piece band.
