Dick Jurgens
Dick Jurgens, born Richard Henry Jurgens on January 9, 1910 in Sacramento,
California, was an American composer and swing music bandleader. He formed his
own group in 1928 while still a student and accepted an engagement with his
orchestra at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco in 1934. Jurgens signed with
Decca Records and had hits with "It's a Hundred to One You're in Love with Me",
featured on Your Hit Parade in 1939, and "In an Old Dutch Garden". His greatest
success came in 1942 when "One Dozen Roses" topped the charts. He joined the
