David Ryan Harris, born in Evanston, Illinois, is an American singer-songwriter
and guitarist. He moved to Atlanta at a young age and began his music career as
the frontman for the rock group Follow for Now in the 1980s. The band released
their self-titled album Follow for Now in 1991 under Chrysalis Records before
disbanding in 1994. Harris then worked with Dionne Farris, contributing to her
1995 album Wild Seed, Wild Flower. He launched his solo career in 1997 with the
