David Russell, born on June 1, 1953, in Glasgow, Scotland, is a classical
guitarist. At age five, his family moved to Menorca, Spain, where he developed
an interest in the guitar, inspired by Andrés Segovia and Julian Bream. He
released his first album Double Bass and Guitar in 1978. Throughout his career,
Russell recorded numerous albums, including Plays Antonio Lauro in 1980, Guitar
Concerto in 1984, and Rodrigo Concertos in 1997. He won the Grammy Award for
Best Instrumental Soloist Performance in 2005 for his 2004 album Aire Latino.
