David Christie
Jacques Pépino, known professionally as David Christie, and born on January 1,
1948 in Tarare, Rhône, France, is a singer. He began his career as a
singer‑songwriter in 1965 under his birth name, first recording with the Lyon
label Soder before signing with CBS. His early releases, including a 1967 45 rpm
record for Fontana featuring four original tracks, failed to chart, but a 1968
contract with Disc'AZ yielded the single "Deux petites perles bleues", which
reached number 28 on the Salut Les Copains hit‑parade on May 15, 1968.
