Dave "Snaker" Ray, born James David Ray on August 17, 1943, in St. Paul,
Minnesota, was an American blues singer and guitarist. Inspired by a Segovia
concert, Ray began playing the guitar at a young age. He gained prominence in
the early 1960s folk revival, collaborating with Spider John Koerner and Tony
"Little Sun" Glover under the name Koerner, Ray & Glover. Their album Blues,
Rags and Hollers (1963) was originally released by Audiophile Records and
re-released by Elektra Records later that year. The trio released albums
