Danny Howells, born 24 November 1970 in Hastings, England, is a DJ and producer
whose career began in the late 1980s with local club sets. After being noticed
by Bedrock founder John Digweed in 1991, Howells joined the Bedrock club nights
and later performed at Heaven in London, establishing himself as a prominent
warm‑up DJ for John Digweed. In 1995 he produced experimental techno with Tim
Cross under the name Squelch, releasing singles that attracted Jackpot Records;
the duo split in 1997 but Howells remained with Jackpot, collaborating with Rob
