Daniel Bernard Roumain, also known as DBR, is a composer, performer, violinist,
and band-leader. His work combines classical music with jazz, hip-hop, and rock.
In September 2010, Roumain's orchestral tone poem Dancers, Dreamers, and
Presidents premiered at the New World Symphony. His notable works include the
opera We Shall Not Be Moved, which he composed in collaboration with librettist
Marc Bamuthi Joseph and director Bill T. Jones. It premiered at Opera
