Dan Gibson, born Daniel Gibson on January 19, 1922 in Montreal, Canada, was a
photographer, cinematographer, and sound recordist. He produced nature films
such as Audubon Wildlife Theatre during the late 1940s. His early recordings
from the 1950s and 1960s were released on LP records, leading to the
introduction of his Solitudes series in 1981. Gibson's career spanned numerous
albums including Angels of the Sea (1995), Forest Piano (1996), and Island
