Dalia Stasevska was born on December 30, 1984 in Kyiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet
Union. She moved to Finland at age five and began studying violin and
composition at the Tampere Conservatory, later continuing at the Sibelius
Academy in Helsinki. Stasevska transitioned to conducting, earning a diploma
from the Sibelius Academy in 2012.
Stasevska's career highlights include becoming the first female principal guest
conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra in July 2019 and receiving the Royal
