Dale Watson was born Kenneth Dale Watson on October 7, 1962, in Birmingham,
Alabama. He spent his early years in North Carolina and later moved to Pasadena,
Texas, where he started writing songs at 12 and made his first recording in his
teens before playing Houston-area clubs with his brother Jim. In 1988 he moved
to Los Angeles on Rosie Flores’s advice, joined the house band at the Palomino
Club, cut the Curb singles “One Tear at a Time” and “You Pour It On and I Pour
