Duane Eric Lavold, known as Custom, was a Canadian-born rock musician and
filmmaker born on June 15, 1967. He began his career in filmmaking before
transitioning to music. In 1999, Lavold moved to New York City's Chinatown to
pursue a music career, releasing his debut album Fast in March 2002 on
ARTISTdirect. The album featured the controversial single "Hey Mister", which
peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and number 28 on
