Bryson Bernard, known professionally as Cupid, was born on October 10, 1982, in
Lafayette, Louisiana. Raised in a church environment, he began singing in the
choir and later joined the university track team before switching to music,
forming the group Fifth Element and eventually launching a solo career. His
early releases, including the 2001 single "Do Ya Thing" and the 2002 album
Cupid, established his presence in the Gulf Coast R&B scene. The breakthrough
