Banda Cuisillos is a Mexican banda group from Cuisillos, Jalisco, formed in 1987
by clarinetist Arturo Macías and long associated with a large brass-heavy
lineup, romantic banda songs, charangas, cumbias, and Native American-inspired
stage costumes. After early local work, the group made its recording debut with
Tengo Mi Novia en Cuisillos in 1989 and reached a wider audience in the 1990s
with El Perro Aguayo, Las Mil y Una Noches, and Déjate Llevar, whose songs
helped define their mix of danceable banda and sentimental ballads. The group
