Cud, a British indie rock band, formed in Leeds in 1987. The original lineup
included vocalist Carl Puttnam, guitarist/keyboardist Mike Dunphy, bassist
William Potter, and drummer Steve Goodwin. Their first recording was a Peel
Session in June 1987, followed by their debut single "Mind the Gap" on Reception
Records. In 1988, they released two further EPs on Nightshift and Ediesta
Records. By 1989, Cud had signed with Imaginary Records and began releasing
albums like When in Rome Kill Me and Leggy Mambo. Their move to A&M Records in
