Air Cuba, originally known as Cuba, was a British electronic music duo formed in
1998 by Christopher Andrews and Ashley Bates. Bates was the former drummer of
Chapterhouse, and Andrews named the group in honor of his heritage as his mother
was born in Cuba. The duo released the singles “Urban Light” (1998) and “Cross
the Line” (1998) on 4AD. In 1999, the group released its sole studio album, Leap
of Faith, which featured collaborations with artists such as Angie Brown and
