Crucifix was an American hardcore punk band from the San Francisco Bay Area,
active from 1980 to 1984. Fronted by Cambodian-born vocalist Sothira Pheng, the
band initially formed with members Christopher Douglas and Matt Borruso. Their
debut release was the five-song EP Crucifix in 1981 on Universal Records. The
following year saw the release of their second EP, "Nineteen Eighty-Four", on
Freak Records. In 1983, they released their landmark album Dehumanization on
