CRU was formed in New York City in 1995 by The One Chadio, Mighty Ha, and Yogi,
who later pursued individual careers. The group first appeared on the remix of
"We Got It Goin’ On" by Changing Faces, gaining attention within East Coast rap
circles. In 1997, under Def Jam Recordings, they released their debut studio
album Da Dirty 30, featuring the singles "Just Another Case" and "Bubblin’",
which charted modestly on regional hip‑hop listings. The album’s release marked
