Crack the Sky, a progressive rock band from Weirton, West Virginia, formed in
1975. Their debut album Crack the Sky was released in 1975 and reached number
161 on the Billboard 200 chart, receiving critical acclaim from Rolling Stone
and The New York Times. In 1978, their second album Animal Notes peaked at
number 142 on the same chart. After Palumbo left in 1977 and the band issued the
live set Live Sky and compilation Classic Crack, he rejoined to make White Music
