Conny Stuart
Cornelia van Meijgaard, known professionally as Conny Stuart, was born on
September 5, 1913, in Wijhe, Netherlands. She began her career performing with
jazz pianist Freddy Johnson's band and made her first radio appearance on July
25, 1939. Stuart began performing with Wim Sonneveld on the radio in 1943.
Stuart also ventured into theater and released albums such as Cabaret 14 - Conny
Stuart (1977). She received the Gouden Harp from the Conamus Foundation in 1969.
Stuart retired with her show De Stuart Story in 1985 but had a final public
