Blues-rock group the Climax Blues Band, originally performing as The Climax
Chicago Blues Band, were formed in 1968 in Stafford, England. The band consisted
of Colin Cooper, Pete Haycock, Derek Holt, Richard Jones, George Newsome, and
Arthur Wood. They began their career playing the local gig circuit and were soon
discovered by a scout for EMI's Parlophone label, leading to the release of
their debut album The Climax Chicago Blues Band in February 1969. Their early
