Maria das Graças Rallo, known professionally as Cláudya, was born on May 10,
1948, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Cláudya debuted at age nine in a talent show at
the Radio Company of Juiz de Fora, where she grew up, and performed at local
events by thirteen. Her career took off in São Paulo during the 1960s with
participation in the program O Fino da Bossa. In 1969, she won the Festival Song
Fluminense with "Razão de Paz para Não Cantar" by Eduardo Lage and Alesio
Eduardo de Barros. Cláudya gained international recognition through performances
