Claire Martin, born September 6, 1967 in Wimbledon, London, is a British jazz
singer. Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald's Song Books, she began her career at 19,
performing in a hotel band at the Savoy Hotel and later aboard the cruise ship
Queen Elizabeth. In 1992, Martin released her debut album The Waiting Game after
signing with Linn Records. She opened for Tony Bennett at the Glasgow
