Citizen Kay, born Kojo Owusu-Ansah in Ghana around 1994, is a Canberra-based Australian hip hop artist. He moved to Australia with his family at the age of six and began his music career by releasing High Evolution Funk EP in 2005. Citizen Kay's breakthrough came with the release of "Yes!" (2013), followed by the EP Demokracy in November 2014, which was nominated for Best Urban Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 and Best Independent Hip-Hop Album Release at the AIR Awards of 2015.
