Cynthia Ann Plotkin (born in Los Angeles), performing as Cindy Alexander, is an
American folk-rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She studied at
the USC School of Drama and played guitar and keyboards from an early age. In
1998, Alexander was named Songwriter of the Year at the Los Angeles Music
Awards. She released her debut album, See Red, in 1999 on her independent label,
JamCat Records. Alexander won the NBC talent competition Star Tomorrow in 2006.
