Chxrry
Lydia Habtemariam, known first as Chxrry22 and later credited as Chxrry, was
born on March 25, 1997, in Scarborough, Toronto, Canada, to Ethiopian immigrant
parents. She grew up around church and family singing, began posting vocal
covers online in 2017, and later moved to Atlanta to pursue music more
seriously. After attracting the attention of Amir “Cash” Esmailian, she signed
to XO Records, becoming the first woman on the Weeknd-founded label. Chxrry made
