Chinaski, a Czech pop rock group, was established in 1987 as Starý Hrady by Pavel Grohman and Michal Novotný. In 1989, Petr Rajchert and Jiří Seydler joined, and the band renamed itself Chinaski after Henry Chinaski from Charles Bukowski's novels in 1994. Their second album, Dlouhej kouř (1997), received a gold certification in 1998. In 2005 and 2007, Chinaski won the Anděl Award granted by the Czech Academy of Popular Music.
