María del Rosario Valdez Campos, known as Chayito Valdez, was a Mexican singer
and songwriter. She started her musical career at a young age, participating in
amateur competitions and gaining recognition for songs like "La Cigarra" and
"Historia De Un Amor." In the early 1970s, Valdez recorded several singles
including "Besos Y Copas" and "Una Noche Me Embriagué." She also contributed to
Mexican traditional music with notable tracks like "Caballo Prieto Azabache" and
"San Juan Del Rio." She passed away on June 20, 2016, in San Diego, California.
