Charles Alexander Landsborough is a British country and folk musician born on
October 26, 1941, in Wrexham, Wales. Raised in Birkenhead as the youngest of
eleven children, he worked as a teacher and apprentice engineer before beginning
his professional singing career in the 1970s. His major success occurred in 1994
with the song “What Colour Is the Wind”, which describes a blind child's
