Celso Machado is a Brazilian guitarist and composer born on January 27, 1953, in
Ribeirão Preto. He performed Brazilian music including chôros, baiãos, and
sambas. Machado began performing as a street musician at age seven. In the early
1970s, he performed in a quartet in São Paulo with three of his brothers. He
released the studio recordings Brasil Violão (1978) and Violão. Machado
relocated to France in 1984 and recorded Imagens do Nordeste with Thierry
Rougier in 1985. He moved to Vancouver in 1990. His discography included The
