CD9, a Mexican boyband formed in 2013, emerged from the initiative of Jos
Canela, Alonso Villalpando, Alan Navarro, Freddy Leyva, and Bryan Mouque, who
gathered in Mexico City to create a pop group that would appeal to a young
audience. Their breakthrough came with the 2014 single "Ángel Cruel" and the
self‑titled debut album CD9, which topped Mexican physical and digital charts
and earned a gold certification from AMPROFON; the group also won Best Artist
and Best Song at the 2014 Kids' Choice Awards México. Subsequent releases
