Catherine Britt
Catherine Elisabeth Britt is an Australian country music artist born on December
31, 1984, in Newcastle. Inspired by Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, she began her
professional career at age 14 by releasing the EP In the Pines. In 2001, she
independently released her debut studio album, Dusty Smiles and Heartbreak
Cures, which reached number 18 on the ARIA Country Chart and earned an ARIA
nomination. Britt moved to Nashville in 2004 and signed with RCA Nashville,
where her US debut single, “The Upside of Being Down”, reached number 36 on the
