The Casa Loma Orchestra, an American dance band, was formed in 1927 in Detroit.
Initially known as the Orange Blossoms, they adopted the name "Casa Loma" by
1929 after playing at the Casa Loma hotel in Toronto. The band's first
recordings were released on Okeh Records in October 1929. Led mostly by
saxophonist Glen Gray, the orchestra featured talented musicians such as Pee Wee
Hunt and S. Jack Blanchette. They recorded for Brunswick until 1934 and then
moved to Decca Records. Notable songs include "Under a Blanket of Blue" and
