Carrapicho was formed in 1980 in Manaus, Brazil, by a group of musicians from
the state of Amazonas, with Zezinho Corrêa as the lead vocalist. The ensemble
first gained attention with the single "Tic Tic Tac" in 1996, which later
reached Number 1 in France and entered the Top 10 in Belgium and Spain, while
charting at number 34 on Brazil’s year‑end list. The group’s debut album Rebola
(1997) was released under BMG, followed by Pagode & Axé No JT (1998) and Fiesta
