Carol Britto
Carol Whitney, also known as Carol Britto, born on May 20, 1935, in Cleveland,
Ohio, was an American jazz pianist. She moved to Toronto, where she attended
Oscar Peterson's Advanced School of Music and began leading a trio at venues
like the Royal York Hotel. In the 1970s, Britto played with Tommy Dorsey's band
and served as an organist for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1977 to 1979. She
performed at the Bourbon Street jazz club in Toronto before moving to New York
City in 1984. From 1985 to 1990, she presented her music in a duo with Major
