Carmen Mastren was an American jazz guitarist, banjoist, and arranger born in
the United States in 1913. Carmen Nicholas Mastandrea began a professional
career in 1931 and moved to New York City in 1934, where they joined the bands
of Wingy Manone and Joe Marsala. Their recordings include the track "Swingin' on
That Famous Door" (1935). From 1936 to 1941, Mastren performed with the Tommy
Dorsey orchestra and provided arrangements for the songs "Liebestraum" (1937)
