Calvin Vollrath
Calvin Vollrath, born on May 16, 1960, is a Canadian fiddler and composer. He
began playing at eight, entered contests at thirteen, and by seventeen won
championship classes. His breakthrough came with the 1985 Grand North American
Old Time Fiddle Championship and a second title in 1998. He released The Reel
Thing (1981), Métis Style Fiddle (2005), and Special Delivery (2021), and
collaborated with Ian Tyson, Colleen Peterson, and John Arcand. He performed at
the 2000 World Music Expo, the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremony, and the
