Byron Stingily, born in Chicago, was an American R&B and house-music singer. He
lived on the West Side of Chicago from the age of five. In 1985, he released his
first single "Funny Love" under Trax Records. After meeting producer Marshall
Jefferson, he recorded "Can Not Stay Away" and "Just a Little Bit", forming the
house trio Ragtyme with Byron Burke and Herb Lawson. After making an impression
in New York, Atlantic Records signed Stingily and his bandmates as Ten City,
