The daughter of Turkish musician Ali Güneş, Izmir-born folk-pop singer-songwriter Burcu Güneş began performing jazz and pop songs at hotels and resorts with her father as a teenager. In 1998, she kickstarted her own recording career with the energetic single “Alimallah” and debut album, Aşk Yarası, which featured contributions from prominent Turkish musicians.
